SB 2795 has passed the MS senate committee hearing and will likely be on the agenda for floor action this week. If this passes the Senate, it will be sent down to the House, where it is considered likely to pass.

This is a devastating piece of legislature: please take the time to read it, and then call and write your elected senate and house officials and let your opinion be known.  If you have time, please consider visiting the Capitol to speak with them directly, or meet with fellow activists who are observing meetings/speaking with officials.

Also, now is the perfect time to get involved: several local organizations including Jackson Area NOW, MSACLU's Reproductive Freedom Coalition, and Planned Parenthood all are exceedingly active in this matter.
